Telling stories with music and without words is extremely challenging and it takes the mind of genius composers to successfully accomplish the task. Mussorgsky frightens us with his powerful Night on Bald Mountain and Rimsky-Korsakov delights us with Scheherezade, from the “One Thousand and One Nights” Persian folk stories. Concertmaster Max Zorin will be featured in the Rimsky-Korsakov piece. Zorin never ceases to amaze us and we promise you nothing less on this concert. In addition, we will perform a suite from Copland’s ballet Billy the Kid. The music is most famous for the incorporation of many cowboy tunes and American folk songs. Guest dancers will join the performance.
