Nutcracker by the Williamsport Ballet Guild

The Williamsport Ballet Guild is pleased to invite you to the FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION of the Williamsport Civic Ballet’s annual production of Peter Tchaikovsky’s holiday classic, THE NUTCRACKER.  For the last half-century, this holiday favorite has thrilled audiences with the sparkle of Tchaikovsky’s brilliant score and the artistry of dancers from the region’s premiere ballet school.  For this year’s FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, the dancers of the Civic Ballet will be joined by two guest artists from the American Ballet Theatre in New York City, April Giangeruso as the Sugar Plum Fairy, partnered with Roman Zhurbin as her Prince.


Two performances are scheduled for the stage of the Community Arts Center:  Saturday, December 1, 2012, beginning at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, December 2, 2012, beginning at 4:00 p.m.  In addition, a Nutcracker Tea Party will be held in the Patron’s Lounge of the Arts Center, beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2012.  Guests at the Tea Party will hear the story of the ballet and have the opportunity to meet the dancers who will perform the ballet later that afternoon.
