The Nutcracker has been presented each holiday season for over 50 years in Downtown Williamsport. The tradition continues with Saint John’s School of the Arts bringing over a hundred talented dancers of all ages to recreate this holiday favorite. All set to Tchaikovsky's music performed by live musicians under the baton of Lycoming College's Dr. William Ciabattari, the Williamsport Youth Choir will be present to add to our community's outstanding choral sound for this timeless classic. The skill and dedication of all these performers will be on display on the Journey Bank Community Arts Center stage during the 2026 performance of The Nutcracker Ballet. The show follows the journey of a little girl who falls asleep on Christmas Eve after a party at her home and dreams herself into a fantastic world where toys become larger than life. Her beloved Nutcracker comes to life and defends her from the Mouse King before whisking her away to a joyful celebration in the Kingdom of Sweets. The Nutcracker is scheduled for Saturday, December 5, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 6, at 4:00 p.m.
