The Community Theatre League takes over the Journey Bank Community Arts Center with the feel-good, full-throttle Broadway blockbuster, Hairspray! Step into 1960s Baltimore, where Tracy Turnblad’s big hair and even bigger heart turn the world upside down. Packed with show-stopping numbers like “Good Morning, Baltimore,” “Welcome to the 60s,” and “You Can’t Stop the Beat,” this Tony Award-winning musical explodes with laughter, love, and a message of inclusion that still rocks today. Community Theatre League presents Hairspray is scheduled for April 17, at 7:30 p.m. and April 18 & 19 at 2:00 p.m.

From Tony winners Terrence McNally, Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, creators of such Broadway classics as Ragtime and Once On This Island, this dazzling show transports its audience from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing con man and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love and family. Anastasia: The Musical is scheduled for Friday, July 17, 2026 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., and Sunday, July 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
